When it seems not working or yielding results, zero it. Also, when it looks all ruined and situation not helping, zero it. Get your thinking right and take the bold step of zero-based thinking. What did I mean by zero-based thinking?
Going back the memory lane, what exactly are you holding on to, of which when let go would make the best in you come out? What is the habit you are engrossed or obsessed with which if reviewed, rechanneled or probably stopped, would definitely make a turning point in you? Zero it, start again, let go of the unnecessary, keep the focus, re-strategize and go back to the root.
